TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY IN SERICULTURE:
Sericulture being one of the labour-intensive and having employment potential to the rural women, AIRD has taken it as a major programme of employment generation in the rural areas. AIRD has established a Centre for Technology Transfer in Sericulture (ACTTS) with the financial support from the INGO Division, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Canada and IDRC to assist the NGOs to strengthen their capabilities in the field of Sericulture and also providing technical support, besides organizing Seminars and Workshops to evolve policy guidelines.
When men are being trained for the sustainable agriculture, women are also trained in the production of the vermicompost and vermiwash which enriches the soil to have chemical free agricultural and horticultural produce.
