AIRD promotes South-South and North-South Co-operation in the field of Sustainable Development.  In this regard, it has established contacts with several Governmental and Non-Governmental Agencies both at the National, Regional and International levels.  AIRD had undertaken several Exchange Programmes to promote better understanding through organizing Exchange Programmes of Development Leaders from Asia/Africa.

AIRD has been working as one of the focal points in India for the Asian NGO Coalition on   Agrarian Reforms and Rural Development (ANGOC): AIRD has been a member of International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA): ANGOC: Sustainable Agriculture Networking and Extension (SANE): besides working as an Associate Member of Approtech Asia:  ELIC and a number of Regional and International Organisations working in the field of Food Production, Sustainable Agriculture, Ecology and Environment.

From time to time, Policy Dialogue were organized through Seminars, Workshops and Group discussions between the Policy Makers Members of Parliament, Members of State Legislatures and Specialists including Economists, Social Scientists, Subject Matter Specialists in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Water Resource Management, etc Representatives of Civil Society, NGOs and representatives from Media, leading to provide policy options to Government agencies and other National, Regional and International Institutions.
