AIRD stands for Asian Institute for Rural Development, head office is situated in Bangalore, India. AIRD has a evolved over 25 years since its inception to be a progressive Non Government Organization (NGO) focused on execution of it's vision in the areas of rural development and affordable education.
Background:
AIRD was established as a Regional Non-Governmental Organisation in the year 1976. The Institute was registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the Indian Trust Act 1882, in Bangalore, Karnataka State, India. AIRD is a Non-Governmental, Autonomous, Non-Political, Non-Sectarian, Non-Racial and Non-Commercial organization. It is totally a secular and service-oriented organization, serving rural and urban poor.
